Terry Mead is no slouch in court. Named a Southwest Super Lawyer in the area of general civil litigation, Terry also has earned the profession's top national Peer Review Rating and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. His experience ranges from defamation, copyright and trademark litigation to divorce and custody hearings.

His trial experience, his personal divorce almost 20 years
ago, over 16 years of helping clients deal with alcohol, substance abuse and domestic violence issues, and numerous appointments representing children in custody disputes have convinced Terry that most conflicts are better handled outside the courtroom with the help of trained and sensitive mediators.
Terry Character

Terry earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and both law and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2006, he underwent intensive mediation training with Alhadeff & Forbes Mediation Services of Seattle, Washington. He belongs to the Association for Conflict Resolution (including its Arizona chapter) and the Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators.

Today, Terry is happily remarried, with two adult sons and a granddaughter.

As a family law attorney for over 20 years, Marc Lessow has worked extensively with clients in crisis. Having received mediation training, he is aware of the opportunity to help individuals work through difficult moments through mediation. Using this process, Marc is able to expand the opportunities for agreement and resolution in divorce proceedings. Marc earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and his law degree from Capitol University Law School in Columbus, Marc Lessow

Ohio. In 2006, he received intensive mediation training from the Coast to Coast Mediation Center, based in Encinitas, California. Marc belongs to the Arizona Chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution and the Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators.

Amy Vavra, co-founder of the Arizona Center for Conflict Resolution & Education and its business manager, brings highly developed management and people skills to the West Valley Mediation Center. She recognizes the stress often found in emotional situations and conflict and is helpful to all who require our services.

Frequently recognized for her volunteer activities, Amy actively has supported numerous community service organizations since moving to the Valley in 1994: Faith House (domestic violence services); Glendale Kiwanis; the Arizona chapter of Executive Women International; Glendale Salvation Army; and Happy Valley Soroptimists International.

Amy's 28 years of business management experience not only help her in assisting you in working with our center, but she recognizes that mediation and conflict resolution are more than a business; they are opportunities to serve by helping you to resolve your difficulties.
